State Reports - South Carolina The South Carolina GAP Project officially began in May 1997 when our research work order was approved and finalized. We have hired a remote sensing specialist to work with the SC Department of Natural Resources to develop our land cover layer and are currently interviewing candidates for a postdoctoral GAP Coordinator position. One graduate student started at Clemson University in the fall to work on issues surrounding the development of the vertebrate species layer. We also are beginning to develop communication and working relationships with the NC-GAP Project and those that will be involved in the Georgia GAP Project. |
